Pet Portraits by Marilyn

Marilyn Hoback, painting professionally for over 40 years, has turned her attention to painting pets.

Her work is now in collections all around the California Central Coast, the San Francisco Bay area, and the Pacific Northwest.

All painting is done from favorite photos of your pets. Paintings are on stretched canvas, using professional grade acrylic artist paints and varnish. Sizes will be standard, unless otherwise preferred, so that they will fit ready-made frames.

Contact the artist at remt1958_1@juno.com to make arrangements to have your pet professionally painted with the precision and passion that your pet deserves

For best results in photographing your pet, either get down to the level of your pet or put it up on something so that you are not pointing the camera down.

Working with more than one photo will give a more complete understanding of the facial planes and highlights and shadow areas.

I will email the portrait  image when it is nearly completed for your approval.  Any changes that are needed will be made at that point.

It might be of interest to know that when I was new at pet portraiture, about five years ago, I had the opportunity to have my work reviewed by an appraiser from Bonhams - international art and antique appraisers. It was very favorable and encouraging, and so inspiring to continue in this work.

Now bear  with me for this one.

Although this special companion is not the typical

commission it was an important one to do.

Emile is a well-traveled old soul who has been well-

loved - and loved back!  He has  been a member of

the family for about 40 years.

Just look at that confidence and style!
